Safari Day 20 - Dar Es Salaam

Stayed the night in a camp just outside of Dar Es Saalam, super hot,  spent the night in my tent.  Worst night so far.  Too hot and humid.  

Safari Day 16 - 18 - Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater

Drove from Arusha to Karatu.  Picked up some red bananas and some amazing art.  Spent the night at a cool camp with a decent cocktail bar.  The next day we hit the crater.  Saw my first black rhino, but super far away.  Beautiful views along the rim.  Amazing animal life everywhere.  Not to be missed on any trip to Africa.  The next two day we were in Serengeti National park.  Great experience because we actually got to spend the night in the park.  No fences, we were part of the food chain that night.  :)

Safari Day 15 - Arusha, Tanzania

Spent a long day traveling across Kenya to Tanzania.  Stayed at a Masai camp near a coffee plantation. Good place to buy Tanzanite if that is your thing.  Lots of Masai gather here to trade.

Safari Day 14 - Night Off

My friends rented this amazing house on the North Shore of Navasha.  It was nice to be off the truck for a night and spend it with close friends.

Safari Day 13 - Lake Navasha

Mountain biked through the Hell's Gate National Park.  No animals here eat you, so you can bike through the park.  Great rock formations and slot canyons.  Got to see 2 gazelles head butt each other for a good 20 minutes.

Safari Day 12 - Lake Nakuru National Park

Great park with some great views.  Got to see rhinos for my first time.  The lake is famous for Flamingos, although the numbers were fewer than normal, it was still quite spectacular.

Safari Day 11 - Travel to Nakuru

Traveled to Nakuru , but stopped to take pictures at the equator.  Spent the night in Nakuru to start off early in the morning for Lake Nakuru park.

Safari Day 10 - Nile River Rafting

Rafted the Nile river today.  They built a dam 2 years ago, so it is not as good as it used to be.  It was still amazing.  Hit some incredible class IV & V rapids.  Unfortunately, my boat was full of hungover Aussie veterinarians on holiday.  They were completely useless and our boat tipped over the most for the day.  Ugh....  Back to Kenya tomorrow.  Rhinos on the way...

Safari Day 9 - Kampala

Drove back to Kampala to spend the night and get ready for the river rafting.

AIDS Orphanage

Spent the day teaching English and Math at the AIDS orphanage.  A school of unwanted children either lost due to their parents dying or relatives lacking the the funds to take care of them.  The kids were great, eager to learn and by no means hindered by their circumstance.
