Safari Day 48 - 50 - Swakopmund

Good to be back in civilization, well Namibia's version.  We are here for a much needed 3 day respite.  I was fortunate to get my own room and a much needed break from the girls on the truck.  Swakopmund is an interesting place, established by Germans.  It has a small German town feel which is wonderful if you like beer.  The Swapkomund Brahaus is excellent.  It by far has some of the best beer that I had in Africa.  The food is excellent as well.  Spent most of my time cruising around town and hanging out at the beach.  Found an excellent pizza place, but can't remember the name, but it is just around the corner from the brauaus.  This town even has a movie hans.  First time on the west coasdt of Africa, beautiful beach town.  I can see why the German tourists flock here.

Traveled to Spitzkoppe and got to camp right next to the rock formation.  Beautiful area.  Really enjoyed the sunset here.  Great place to rock climb.

Safari Day 46 - Outjo/Cheetah Park

Stopped off in a small town called Outjo, famous for it's German bakery.  The bakery is nice, because it is the only thing that somewhat reminds you of things you have missed for so long.  There were a couple of markets here as this was a proper town.  I was able to stock up on booze and supplies.  Finally arrived at the Cheetah Park.  Very meager campsite, hot and sparse.  There is a little bar they made to capitalize on the tourists.  If you love hunting and dead animals hung on the wall, this is the place for you.  Must say the cheetahs were pretty cool.

Safari Day 44 - Etosha

Cool park with some developed facilities.  Great little shops.  Bought some booze and went up to the veranda to admire the sunset over the Etosha plains.  Great night, we actually got to spend the night in the park at a cool campsite.  We had a nice little BBQ, which seemed to life spirits.

Safari Day 40-41 - Okavango Delta

Spent two nights camping in the Okavango Delta.  We took a Makoro, a carved out wooden boat to the campsite.  The boat is similar to a gondola where the boatsmen propels you by pushing a stick off the bottom.

Safari Day 39 - Maun Camp

Another travel day.  Cool camp with a nice bar and pool.  Apparently, there were a few Black Mambas in the camp the night before.  Resting up for a 2 day overnight excursion in the Okavango Delta.

Safari Day 38 - Chobe National Park/Sunset cruise

Got up super early to go to the park.  it's too hot in the afternoon for the animals, so early morning is best.  Got some wonderful shot at the park.  The sunset cruise on the river was also amazing.  This was truly an epic day.  See for your self below.
